We sponsor the Angela Dappert Memorial Award for Digital Preservation Research & Practice in conjunction with iPres, the international conference on digital preservation.
The award selection is integrated with the iPres paper submission and evaluation process. The iPres Organising Committee recommends a small set of excellent papers for consideration. Dr Farquhar selects the one that best fits with the specific goals of the award. An ideal paper would make not only a notable theoretical contribution, but also have shown or be likely to show an impact in practice. This reflects Dr Dappert’s keen recognition of the interplay between research and practice. Good ideas reflect real past experience and have a pragmatic impact on the future.
